We work with local people to run a wide variety of community projects of benefit to the environment, health and wellbeing. Our activity includes: Carshalton Community Allotment, food growing training & family fun, inclusive cycling, farmers' markets, healthy eating, Carshalton Environmental Fair, Carshalton Frost Fair, home energy improvement, local ambassador schemes, EcoLocal Schools classes and Greener Schools support, mobile solar power provision, cycle delivery service, Green Drinks. If you'd like to take part in any of our activities or volunteer we'd be delighted to hear from you.

    Inclusive Cycling Sessions

    Come along and try out our cycling sessions on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at David Weir Leisure Centre (Sutton Arena). They are good fun, sociable and are a great way to get some exercise! We have a wide range of bikes, trikes and 4-wheelers and run two types of session on each of the days:

    - 10am - 11am: informal inclusive cycling sessions for adults who would like an opportunity to learn to ride, regain cycling confidence, improve cycling skills, socialise and get gentle exercise in safe off-road environment

    - 11am – 12noon: everybody is welcome, but from 11am we cater for groups of adults with a disability. We have cycles suitable for all disabilities click here for details.

    Due to school sports days using the athletics track, there are a few dates during the year when sessions are not running or are running at a later time.

    Growing without a Garden

    Come and join us for our first Beanstalk Session of the year. We will be out and about at the Riverside Centre, finding out about how to grow food in containers of all shapes and sizes! Have a go at planting Potatoes, Beans, salad and other goodies – and then do some planting of your own to take home and grow – whether or not you have a garden!

    If you are just starting out, or would like to get some more detailed knowledge of food growing, then this course is for you. Over 6 weeks you will learn everything you need to know to confidently grow your own fruit and veg. including:

    - Preparing your growing area

    - Planning what to grow

    - Planting techniques

    - Harvesting and storing produce

    Carshalton Frost Fair 2014

    In the beautiful setting next to Carshalton Ponds, the Frost Fair is a traditional winter event with activities for all of the family. Outside Honeywood Museum and in the nearby Memorial Gardens will be a farmers’ market and craft stalls offering a varied range of tasty treats and a variety of wonderful gift ideas. The area will be lit with twinkling fairy lights and with the smell of hot food & hog roast in the air. There will be choirs, live music and entertainment of various types with a seasonal feel.

    Inside Honeywood Museum, there will be story telling and Santa’s Grotto in the magic of the newly refurbished ‘childhood room’ surrounded by toys from a bygone era. Honeywood Café offers mulled wine, mince pies and other food and drink.

    The Friends of the Ecology Centre will run their Christmas Fair and Winter Wonderland Trail alongside the Frost Fair.

    Join us for our summer Beanstalk Session down at the Community Allotment. This time it’s all about bees and flowers – why do we need bees and how can they help us grow food?

    Find out about the secret life of bees and why flowers are so important on your allotment. See the world through the eyes of a bee and play the bees and flowers game – then try your hand at sowing, planting out and harvesting.
